Hillview Preschool employs a preschool teacher and assistant teacher to be in the classroom daily.
Hi my name is Khushi I am mom of two beautiful children, I was born and raised in India where I was an elementary school teacher. I have always enjoyed working with children and I want to continue with this line of work. In 2014 I attended Vancouver Career College and completed my Early Childhood Education course. (ECE). I was based at Princess Park children center in North Vancouver where I worked for five years and enjoyed my position as assistant manager. I have over 6 years of experience working with preschool children.
Hi, my name is Johanne Lamoureux and I am a qualified Early Childhood Educator Assistant with 6 years experience. I’ve worked in both Montessori and play-based pre-schools and have had the pleasure of being with Hillview Parent Participation Preschool since 2017.
As an educator, I believe that play-based and child-centered learning environments really allow children to express themselves freely. By building meaningful relationships, children can be guided towards more meaningful experiences and learning. When children feel safe and secure they become more independent, responsible & productive: they go beyond their comfort zones by learning new ways of connecting with their feelings, dealing with challenges amongst friends and trying new things that once felt uncomfortable or scary.
I wholeheartedly believe that “It takes a village to raise a child”. We need to work together to support our children, our families and our neighbourhoods! This is why I’m a strong advocate of the inclusion that Parent Participation Preschools encourages. We can all use a little more support and community building!
I believe every child is unique and special, and hope to provide a safe and creative environment for them to learn in. I feel that forming a relationship with each child is important and from there we will build on supporting each of their needs.
My aim is to provide inclusive learning for all children and develop a desire for them to explore the world around them.
